Alice Springs and the Remote Outback

Before heading to Alice Springs I joined up with a really sharp guy named Gregory Little.  Greg runs a consulting/touring company called General Flora and Fauna and is based out of the Newcastle, NSW area. http://www.gff.com.au/

Greg and I had been in contact  early in the summer before I left California in August ’08 for Aus. Our plan was to head to the remote outback regions of Western Australia to search for the rare Princess Parrot. Heading out of Alice was  surreal. There were Parrots almost everywhere I looked!

Galahs were everywhere!

Galahs were everywhere!

No place on the planet has such a rich diversity of Parrot life as Australia. Its hard for someone from North America to wrap their head around the fact that what we purchase as expensive cage birds fly free in Aus!
